Building your first loadout without overthinking it

Modern strategy and tower defence games love to hand you a huge upgrade tree on hour two. It's easy to freeze up. Here's how I stop that.

Pick a plan and commit for a while. If you want a defensive build, put everything into that and see how it feels for a few maps. You'll learn far more from one focused build than from spreading points thin across everything.

Don't chase the flashy top-tier options first. The boring foundational upgrades, more range, faster fire, cheaper towers, usually carry more weight and let you experiment later.

Most games let you respec eventually. Knowing that took the pressure off for me. Treat your first loadout as a test, not a commitment, and the paralysis fades.
