Tideborne Legion

★★★★★ 4.5 Editor rating

Tideborne Legion is a compact turn-based strategy game that leans on positioning. You control a handful of units per battle, and terrain does a lot of the work: high ground, cover and the tide itself, which floods parts of the map on certain turns. Planning around that tide is where the game gets interesting.

Battles are short enough to finish in one sitting but deep enough to plan. Units level up between missions and pick up small perks, so you build attachments to your squad over time. Losing a favourite unit stings, which is exactly the point.

The interface is clean for a mobile strategy game, with clear range indicators and an undo for movement before you commit. Some later missions throw a lot of enemies at once and can drag, but the core tactics stay sharp.
