Dune Runner X

Dune Runner X is a straightforward arcade racer, and it knows it. Tracks wind through desert canyons and dunes, and the handling is loose in a good way: you drift into corners and the car forgives small mistakes. It's built for short races, not simulation.

The tilt controls are decent, but we preferred the on-screen buttons for tighter control. Boost management is the main skill, and learning when to save it for a straight makes a real difference to your times. Time trials are where the game shines.

It's not ambitious, and the track variety runs thin after a while. But for a quick race between other things, it does the job and looks good doing it.
